Nahm

Nahm

Dispatch 7

Death Valley Comics 2019-2025

An entity that represents the horrors and challenges that American troops faced while fighting the Veit Cong in the jungles of Vietnam. It is the manifestation of the killing, destruction, pain and agony brought upon innocent vietnamese civilians at the hands of American troops.

Nahm is the arch nemesis of Sgt. Woodbone and was created in almost the same way. A ba dong, a vietnamese witch living in seclusion in the jungle, came across the deceased corpse of a vicious ape defeated by Woodbone, and decided to cook and eat the meat back home. She mixed the ape meat with a certain species of frog that is extremely rare and just so happened to be the same one that granted Woodbone his powers. This frog was the subject of an alter and prayed to in some villages due it's mythical powers of blessings and revival. After eating the ape meat mixed into a stew with the blessed frog, the witch transformed into a spiritual monster fueled by rage, grief, and suffering. She takes the form of either a frog creature, an ape creature, a normal looking Vietnamese woman, or a combination of all. Nahm mimics the sounds of the ghost hollers heard in the jungle warfare as well as the screams and cries of soldiers and civilians.

Due to the ape being a source of the rage and some of the souls having mad their way to this being, revenge was sought against Sgt. Woodbone for taking their lives.

Nahm uses agile and sneaky attacks that are often unexpected. It is also extremely good at remaining undetected until it is time to strike and uses psychological tactics to gain the upper hand in some fights. Nahm can jump really high, climb and maneuver through jungle or other constructions with masterful agility and speed. Its long arms give it good reach when throwing any kind of strikes.
